Holistic Psychotherapy & Wellness Philosophy

Heal the root cause of suffering

Holistic Psychotherapy & Wellness Manhattan Philosophy

It is truly an honor to have the opportunity to work with women, men and couples in my New York City private psychotherapy practice. I am always humbled by the courage and grace it takes to endure and persevere in the face of extraordinary, and even the ordinary circumstances. As a holistic and integrative psychotherapist, I strive to offer therapy that is challenging and compassionate. I always follow my intuition, and I can help you learn to trust your own inner wisdom as a guide. I believe in helping clients feel authentic and safe enough to feel embodied and deeply connected to “self” and others.

The essence of my work is to facilitate emotional growth by identifying the root cause of symptoms (i.e., anxiety, depression, trauma, relational), using a holistic and integrative approach. The relationship or “fit” between therapist and patient is the best predictor of a successful therapy experience. Of course, I am not the right therapist for everyone. I am a relational therapist, which means that I place importance on our therapeutic relationship as a means to facilitate emotional healing. As an integrative therapist, I am less likely to adhere to a single psychological theory, but rather draw from many therapy models. Some practices that I blend may include: EMDR therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), positive neuroplasticity training, attachment-focused couple therapy, Somatic Experiencing, psychoanalytic psychotherapy, as examples. I am extensively trained in self-care and yoga therapy with the Urban Zen Foundation in addition to level II Reiki practitioner.

My ideal client is motivated to make changes in their lives. I work with people from all walks of life, addressing a broad range of difficulties, including those who are struggling to move forward with their lives following trauma or traumatic events. Many of my clients are successful, high-functioning professionals and creatives, yet struggle with anxiety, depression, addictions, trauma, crisis, loss, destructive patterns that are repeated and relationship concerns. They present to the world as “together” yet may suffer privately. My background in performing arts and sports has enabled me to understand and treat high-profile clients, including: international musicians, creatives, writers, professional athletes, TV personalities, thought-leaders, entrepreneurs and Fortune 500 CEOs. I work with adults and couples of diverse sexual, ethnic and religious backgrounds.

Teletherapy

Many of my New York patients are talented, driven and dynamic men and women who struggle with a range of concerns. Whatever challenges they may face, they struggle to have satisfying relationships, and lead balanced and meaningful lives. Like so many high-achieving successful New Yorkers, you may be high-functioning in many areas of your life and yet you struggle with sadness, emptiness, depression, anxiety and poor coping adaptations. Lifelong patterns and dynamics that are not identified and repaired are repeated again and again in our personal and professional lives. Seeking therapy with a highly-experienced psychotherapist can help you have healthier relationships, gain new perspectives, reach your goals and remain resilient during stressful and challenging times. Therapy can help you feel less alone with your problems, as well as feel supported as you work to improve your circumstances. Life in New York City offers a unique set of challenges. A fast-paced lifestyle and hectic schedules lead to high levels of stress and little time for rejuvenation. If you are experiencing feelings of anxiety and depression, or are struggling with substance use or unresolved trauma PTSD, you are not alone. Working with an experienced NYC therapist can empower you to find ways to cope with your circumstances, and develop strategies for work-life balance. Holistic Psychotherapy & Wellness Manhattan offers highly-effective, evidence-based counseling and therapy practices, as well as an integrative psychotherapy philosophy that incorporates a range of helpful, healing strategies, individualized to meet your unique needs This private psychotherapy practice rooted in New York City understands that busy New Yorkers can’t always take time out of their day to commute to therapy sessions. Teletherapy is a modern option that has become the preferred way to receive therapy and coaching for many. It is ideal for those who work or travel, couples with young children and different schedules, young adults and professionals, college students, boarding school, expats, international travelers and individuals who live in remote areas. Some high-profile and VIP patients have a greater need for privacy and discretion, therefore, they enjoy the relative anonymity of avoiding waiting rooms or being seen entering a therapy suite. Getting started is easy. After scheduling, I’ll send you a session link from my secure, HIPPA-compliant platform. You click on the link to my online waiting room and I admit you to my private online office. It’s up to you to create an emotionally safe space in your home or office for our conversations. Many enjoy their coffee, tea and pets during sessions. If you are meeting as a couple, being in the same room is ideal, but we can easily meet if you are in different locations. Research reveals that teletherapy is just as effective and comprehensive as in-person therapy.  Read research
